All About Ashley

Public Relations Specialist, Ashley Kast, may be new to the office but is no stranger to Milwaukee - and its news crews!

What’s your anthem right now?

Passion – Awolnation

What is the greatest challenge you've been faced with so far?

Quitting my first real job and moving to Milwaukee to go back to school was the craziest, hardest thing I’ve ever done. Even though it was hard to move to a new city and live in the dorms as an adult, it was the best and most rewarding thing I’ve ever done.

You punch the clock at 5pm on Friday, where are you off to start your weekend?

Usually somewhere to hang out with friends, I try to find something exciting to do on the weekend like a sporting event, concert or festival downtown.

What was 10-year-old you like?

Listening to Backstreet Boys, Nsync, Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera and being the typical 90s kid.

Do you have a mantra? Enlighten us!

Everything happens for a reason.

We've seen the birth of the internet, cell phones, computers in our pockets and a black president in the last 25 years – what's the next big thing?

I have no idea, but I’m sure it’ll be big.

You have Wisco roots. You live and breathe cheese, #lakelife and Summerfest. What's the most 'Sconnie pastime for you?

I love trying out new breweries and beer that I haven’t tried before.

Where is one place you’ve always wanted to go and/or where is your favorite place you’ve ever visited?

I haven’t been able to travel outside of the U.S. yet, but my dream vacation is to spend a week in Ireland. My favorite place in the U.S. is Oregon. I love the ocean, mountains, waterfalls and fresh seafood.

If you could have dinner with three people, dead or alive, who would they be and why?

My great-uncle Charlie was a well-respected priest who traveled all over the world. It would be fun to hear some of his stories as an adult. Billie Joe Armstrong, the lead singer of Green Day. Green Day has been my favorite band since I was in middle school and I’m sure Billie Joe has some crazy stories from the 90s. Last but not least, Will Ferrell because he’s hilarious.
